Legendary musician, Bruce Springsteen, shared with his fans that he is battling peptic ulcer disease. The Boss shared that a string of September shows had to be canceled for him to recover soon. However, the tour is slated to resume from November.
The 74-year-old singer shared that the remaining leg of the tour will be postponed to next year for him to recover fully. In addition, the singer shared that he was advised by his doctor to take time off from the tour to focus on his recovery.
An abundance of caution was taken to ensure that the artist and his band are able to hit the road soon. Especially for the Canadian leg of the tour that was to start from November.
As per a statement from his band “Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice.” This was followed by the disappointing announcement of the tour’s postponement.
The rescheduled dates for the show are now set to be August 23rd and 24th of the next year in Philadelphia at the Citizens Bank Park. Additionally, the band’s statement also shared that the rest of the rescheduled tour dates will be announced next week.
It is a relief that the venues for the show will be the same as this year. Springsteen shared in his statement that he could not wait to see all his fans next year. He also said that he is currently taking time off to be “on the mend.”
